Lubrication systems for India

3rd Quarter 2014 News & events

FLSmidth India has again commissioned OMSA South Africa to supply Jindal Saw steel plant with 5 x 8 m ball mill lubrication systems for four 125 tph low grade iron ore beneficiation plants. These comprise hydrostatic bearing oil lubrication systems and girth gear centralised grease spray systems.

OMSA, having originally successfully supplied mill lubrication sets in 2008 and 2013, became the obvious partner for further units. The contract is worth R3,4 million. The lubrication units were delivered during July 2014 and once delivered to site, OMSA supplied a team of commissioning engineers and supervisors to assist in the erection and commissioning of the new mill lubrication systems, ensure they were operational and conduct training for the plant maintenance personnel. OMSA’s unique design and product knowledge within this sector, in addition to its global network of after-sales support, enhanced OMSA’s ability to win this contract, as well as the fact that OMSA sells and services lubrication equipment globally. The OMSA lubrication systems operate in extreme weather conditions of 0–50°C ambient temperature and up to 91% relative humidity.
