OMSA supplies lubrication systems

1st Quarter 2011 News & events

OMSA has been awarded contracts valued at over R5 million for lubrication systems for mills and stacker/reclaimers in South Africa and Zimbabwe.

A R1 million contract for 10 grease centralised lubrication systems for two stackers and two drum reclaimers at a coal stockyard was awarded by a German engineering company. This was a result of OMSA’s in-house manufacturing and design capabilities, track record and price competitiveness.

The company was also awarded a R1,4 million contract by New Concept Projects for a lubrication system for an ore grinding mill. OMSA supplied two units to the mine in 2001. Due to OMSA’s satisfactory performance and good after sales support, the company was asked to supply a further system to specification. This will be delivered in 2011.

Another mill lubrication system will be supplied to a platinum mine in Zimbabwe at a value of R3 million. The system includes mill trunnion bearings, gearboxes, motor bearing lubrication, water cooling tower and all site inter-connecting pipes. OMSA will be sending a technical team to Zimbabwe to install and commission the lubrication systems.

All lubrication systems are designed, fabricated, assembled and tested before being dispatched to the customer. They have a working-life in excess of 30 years, providing regular planned scheduled maintenance is conducted.
