Hytec’s test system linked to Bosch Rexroth

3rd Quarter 2013 Hydraulic systems & components

Hytec’s hydraulic component testing facility is getting a R1 million upgrade with Bosch Rexroth’s globally standardised test control system. The new system will ensure hydraulic component tests are carried out in accordance with specified procedures, and will distinguish Hytec’s certified Bosch Rexroth service and test centre from other local repair companies.

Dubbed Cadasys (Computer Aided Data Acquisition System), the system relies on a central server to store all test data, generate official test reports and guide technicians through the entire testing process. “Operators simply select the product to be tested from on-line product libraries,” says André Lindeque, engineering manager at Hytec. “Cadasys then guides the process step by step by displaying acceptable tolerance values at each test point, as well as the required adjustment values.”

The system validates every facet of a hydraulic component and ensures any identified problems are corrected or logged before continuing the testing process.

Cadasys is designed to operate with a direct internet connection to Bosch Rexroth’s central server. “This system enables Rexroth to supply a certified report that guarantees the integrity of the test,” says Lindeque.

Assessment reports are automatically archived by the server for future comparisons with the same component. Cadasys is a standalone system designed to be incorporated into most test benches. The only modification necessary is the inclusion of a cable that connects the bench with Cadasys. This facilitates E-Stop synchronisation and other communication, oil condition and temperature monitoring, and control of certain test bench functions. User-friendly screens will come standard with the Cadasys system.

SA Gauge Editor's Choice Hydraulic systems & components
Water hammer is a high-pressure surge or wave created by the kinetic energy of moving fluid when it is rapidly forced to stop or change direction, altering the liquid’s velocity. The progression of the water hammer shockwave needs to be detained and slowed before reaching the instrument sensor. SA Gauge manufactures several such devices in order to achieve this.
