Rockwell strengthens its roots in Africa

Industrial automation specialist, Rockwell Automation is strengthening its roots in Africa. At the inauguration of the company’s new premises in Johannesburg, managing director Barry Elliott also announced that Rockwell is joining forces with two well-known and influential South African trusts, Ma Afrika Tikkun Trust and Simanye Trust, as the company’s B-BBEE shareholders. In his opening address Elliott said, “South Africa is important to us and the significant investment we have made is testament to our confidence in both the global and local economies. Our new offices reflect Rockwell Automation’s continued commitment to strengthening our roots in Africa.”

At the inauguration, guests were also entertained by political analyst, Justice Malala with a thought-provoking presentation entitled ‘Beyond the Noise: South Africa 2016-2026’. This was followed by Rockwell EMEA president, Thomas Donato, who talked about ‘The Connected Enterprise: the Internet of Things’. He said that this is all about increasing the productivity of your assets and doing more with what you have, and Rockwell has generated significant improvement in its own organisation as well as for its key clients.

With a new B-BBEE shareholder and a new centre for its sub-Saharan operations, Rockwell Automation continues to demonstrate its seriousness in fulfilling its social and economic mandate in South Africa.
