Versatile connection technology

4th Quarter 2017 Pneumatic systems & components

Thanks to its stable material properties, the PTFEN polytetrafluoroethylene tubing from Festo ensures greater process reliability under extreme ambient and operating conditions in the chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food industries. It is temperature-, pressure- and chemical-resistant, FDA-compliant, TSE-free, hydrolysis- and weather-resistant, and brings media flows reliably to their destination. Cleaning costs are also reduced as the smooth surface of the tubing prevents microbes and other active and damaging substances from adhering to it.

Used with matching Festo tubing and fitting combinations, PTFEN displays its strengths in a variety of process applications. These include, for example, fermentation plants in the biotechnology industry, cheese presses in the dairy products industry, high temperature tyre production processes, palm oil production, petrochemicals, mining, metalworking and metallurgy.

The material properties of the PTFEN tubing allow it to be used as a replacement for costly stainless steel piping for compressed air in the chemical industry. The tubing can operate at pressures of up to 6 bar, medium temperatures of up to 130°C and ambient temperatures of up to 150°C.
