Swiss drive specialist, maxon motor is expanding its range of servo controllers by adding the ESCON Module 50/8 HE (Harsh Environment), a rugged, compact powerhouse that operates in the harshest ambient conditions. This compact plug-in module with a nominal current of 8 A is designed for brushed and brushless DC motors with a peak power of up to 750 W. However, the controller’s true strength is its resilience: It performs reliably at ambient temperatures from -40 to 92°C. The electronics are protected against contaminants and corrosion by a polymer coating. Even silicones and lubricant oils do not stick. In addition, the device is highly resistant to vibrations and shocks.
The new ESCON Module 50/8 HE complements maxon’s existing range of ESCON controllers perfectly. It has numerous configurable digital inputs and outputs and is easy and intuitive to set up using the ESCON Studio software. The module is available in two versions, with and without a heat sink.
