Vibration monitor from SKF
1st Quarter 2012, Other technologies
SKF’s latest Microlog family of portable monitoring and data collection instruments was developed to assist engineers to perform maintenance on a wide range of machinery with rotary or reciprocating motion and to allow measurement of vibration quickly, accurately and efficiently. SKF Microlog instruments and associated SKF @pitude software, deliver real time and historical analyses for effective predictive maintenance and process traceability, assisting in improving uptime and productivity.
With simplified collection, analysis, utilisation and sharing of machine condition data, the SKF Microlog series includes route-based instruments. These work with SKF’s powerful predictive maintenance software systems and standalone instruments, offering on the spot advice and signal analysis capabilities.
The new handheld SKF Microlog Advisor Pro Balancing Kit, for example, is ideal for onsite balancing of rotors such as electrical motor rewinders, and supports both single and dual plane balancing.
This new instrument, with easy to follow menus, ensures that machinery operates at optimum performance levels and that operating costs are reduced. Using robust, high speed data processors, the unit provides real time display updates of vibration amplitude and phase angle, while calculating the optimum trial/correction weights as required.
