The EC-powermax 22 from maxon motor achieves high torque at slow speeds when compared to other similar-sized brushless DC motors. This 22 mm diameter motor complements the 30 mm EC-powermax 30 model, is rated up to 120 W, and is available in two lengths.
For electronic commutation, the magnetic field is sensed through Hall sensors. Like the EC-powermax 30, the 22 mm diameter model has no detent because of the grooveless stator. This results in excellent control characteristics which are particularly beneficial for positioning operations.
The EC-powermax 22 is available in two lengths, of 48,6 or 66 mm in the standard program, with an operating range of 90 to 120 W depending on the version. The company’s modular system means that it can be combined with 32 mm planetary gearheads.
maxon also offers corresponding electronics for operating and/or controlling the motor.
The new EC motor is particularly suitable for applications where top performance is required per volume and weight unit, such as in medical technology, or generally for handheld tools such as slicing and drilling machines.
