20 years in the hydraulic hose industry

On 19 October, Genflex Hydraulics celebrated its 20th year serving the hydraulics industry. From a very small beginning, the company has grown to be one of the biggest hydraulic hose suppliers in southern Africa.

Bruce Garner, managing director of Genflex Hydraulics, said, “To get to where we are today has been a hard team effort that has brought both happiness and pain. The management of Genflex has never lost sight of its goal of becoming the largest hydraulic hose supplier south of the Sahara. Our team remains extremely motivated and excited to see what further challenges will present themselves to us”.

Genflex has 20 fully owned branches and four manufacturing factories. Three of these are fully paid for and this has reduced the company’s overheads dramatically. Genflex also operates a backup machine shop that manufactures any hydraulic hose fittings that may be required quickly – also fully paid for. The company plans to introduce four more Genflex branches during the next 12 months.

Thames Trading takes on the Genflex brand

It was recently announced that Genflex Group has acquired the complete shareholding in Thames Trading of Boksburg. Genflex now wishes to inform the market that the name change from Thames Trading to Genflex East Incorporating Thames Trading has now been completed. This will enable Genflex to be easily identified should the group make further acquisitions in the East Rand.

“The company’s short history in this region has doubled the turnover in the last four months and Genflex is confident that this can be doubled again in the not too distant future,” said Garner.
