Festo Linear Actuator DFPC for harsh conditions within the process industry

Third Quarter 2021 Electrical switching & drive systems & components

One of the products that form the heart of absolute automation is the alluring linear actuator DFPC from Festo. Whether you require your linear actuator as an off-the-shelf component or individually configured, their new double-acting linear actuator can be both. Each time the heart beats, blood is pumped out of the heart and into the body to supply oxygen to working muscles or to the lungs. This process is controlled by the two branches of the autonomic (involuntary) nervous system. Similar to the heart process, the DFPC has been specially designed to actuate media flow in process valves such as gate and pinch valves.

The actuator is sturdy and corrosion-resistant. A unique feature of this actuator is that it offers ISO 5210 and ISO 15552 interfaces. This means that it conforms to both local and international standards, which potentially reduces your engineering costs for expensive brackets and adaptors to fit your process valve. Our actuator can be used in water and wastewater treatment, mining and chemical industry, to name a few.

Very sturdy and corrosion-resistant

The piston rods, screws, nuts and tie rods are made of stainless steel, while the cylinder barrels and end caps are made of aluminium. In addition, the end-position cushioning on both sides enables high travel speeds. Unlike the trend in the local market, the DFPC uses Festo superior piston design, thereby providing you with long service life and reliability.

Perfect choice

This cost-effective actuator is readily available in predefined standard versions that can be delivered quickly from stock. Customers also have the option to configure a unique DFPC based on various piston rod dimensions, spacer bolt length, stroke and diameter, to name a few. Festo has the perfect choice for all customer requirements.

Standard for the process industry

The DFPC is currently available in sizes 80, 100, 125, 160 and 200. This will soon be followed by other sizes that will cover the vast majority of the requirements in the process industry. Furthermore, proximity sensors, cylinder mountings, Namur valves linear potentiometers and a host of other accessories are available to accessorise your DFPC cylinder. Festo also offers expertise that supports customers from purchasing to installation.
