Condra Cranes achieves GOST certification

Condra Cranes has achieved GOST certification, the recognised quality standard of the Russian Federation. The newly acquired quality standard is expected to dramatically expand Condra’s European footprint.
“GOST is the equivalent of ISO 9001 in the Russian Federation,” explained Condra’s managing director, Marc Kleiner. “We have received considerably more enquiries for customised cranes from this region since GOST completed its certification procedures.” Condra recently secured a R13 million order to supply a 70 ton crane to a power generation plant in Russia’s Ural Mountains.
Condra invested some R300 000 in procedures leading up to the company’s GOST certification. A team from Russia visited the South African factory in Germiston to test cranes, hoists, drives, brakes, bottom blocks and end carriages as part of the certification process.
