Power Team has introduced Globe’s new radial piston air motor for heavy industry which is suitable for an unprecedented range of control valve and output options. Globe has configured its four five-piston variations to support continuous or intermittent operation in temperatures ranging from -15 to 80°C, with horse power ratings from 2,4 kW to an incredible 23 kW. “These radial piston air motors were engineered to feature oil bath lubrication to deliver higher power outputs than other motors of equivalent size,” says Ian Bennett, general manager at Power Team.

“The Europe-based Globe has gone to extreme lengths to ensure its radial piston air motors are intrinsically safe in hazardous environments, such as in petrochemical, mining, oil and gas plants. “In addition to this, motors are more resistant to dirty and damp conditions,” he adds.

This relatively inexpensive variable speed motor range can be directly coupled to gearboxes with modular motor, brake, gearbox and control valve options available. It is also reversible, easy to maintain, can start under load and will operate in poor environments.

Power Team, a member of the Hytec group of companies, has included this range of radial piston air motors as part of a comprehensive solution to some of its core applications. Examples are winches, conveyors, mills, mixers, pumps, hoists and track drives operating in the construction, oil and gas, offshore marine, shipyard and mining industries. The motors can even be made sub-sea and flame proof, which is ideal for sweet natural gas or inert gas applications.
