2nd Quarter 2013Electrical switching & drive systems & components
With the new CANopen interface, Faulhaber has now made its complete motion control product range compatible with the preferred fieldbus for multi-axis applications in automation technology. In addition to the external controllers of the MC 3002, 3003 and 3006 series, the integrated 22 … BX4 CxD, 32xx … BX4 Cx and 3564 … B Cx versions with the new interface are also available. Only 22 mm in diameter, Faulhaber’s complete system of brushless DC servomotors is the smallest integrated CANopen motion controller in the world.
The new motion controller versions supplement the existing RS-232 and CAN Faulhaber interfaces, which are especially well designed for single-axis applications as well as small, separately operating networks. They now offer full CANopen functionality in accordance with CiA 402. Operation on higher level controllers such as PLCs and easy networking via dynamic PDO mapping is possible, in particular in networked applications in factory automation and industrial machinery. The standardised protocol with corresponding device profiles enables the synchronous control of several axes in a convenient and reliable manner. The drives on the fieldbus level, the motion controllers and the motors connected to them can be configured easily and conveniently with Faulhaber Software Motion Manage.
