Hengstler has introduced a hollow shaft encoder which offers the best price performance ratio in its class. Based on the same optical measuring principle as the Northstar heavy duty encoders, the Hengstler RI 64 is reliable and compact.

Its robust design incorporates a blocked bearing assembly for higher maximum bearing load. The shock and vibration resistance is twice as high as that of common industrial encoders. With a smaller footprint, it can be used on hollow shafts with a diameter up to 16 mm at a 63 mm enclosure diameter.

The Hengstler RI 64 can operate at temperatures ranging from -40 to 100°C and features an insulated shaft to protect against ripple currents. The unit has a high EMC resistance and incorporates a high resolution, unbreakable code disc with up to 5000 increments. Protected to Class IP67, the Hengstler RI 64 is compatible with common frequency converter types.
