Variolution is an innovative new concept from SEW-Eurodrive that helps customers get more bang for their buck by drawing on their strengths developed through repeated business in their industries. Variolution is essentially packaged selling, whereby 80% of the package is standard and 20% can be customised. This provides customers with customisation on top of the benefits of a standard tried and tested solution.
“Through developing the same solutions over and over we realised a pattern. We were able to come up with packages for various industries that make it easier for customers to get the right products for the right applications,” comments electronics manager, Norman Maleka. The benefit is that the customer has to deal with fewer variables and suppliers when setting up a new application. Another advantage is that all components come from one supplier and so the customer is offered a one-stop solution with the accompanying cost benefits.
“We have seen small to medium companies take up the Variolution packages in recent months,” says Maleka. He attributes this to the expertise offered by SEW which helps companies who might be running a lean operation to be up and running quickly with their new application.
There are 10 Variolution packages which include conveyer line, packing, unpacking and lifting. Special modifications to meet requirements such as energy efficiency or hygienic design are also possible. The Variolution packages are suitable for both large and small sized companies and they suit any application in a variety of industries, including mining, automotive, food processing, beverages, transport and logistics.
