The efector Metris compressed air consumption meter from ifm electronic allows compressed air users to keep a tally of exactly how much this expensive resource is being used or wasted. It is a low cost way of measuring current and total compressed air consumption precisely. The sensor is mounted and adjusted in a pipe length at the factory.
Due to the high sensitivity even minute quantities of compressed air, as in the case of a leak, are detected at an early stage. Binary, analog and pulse outputs and the display of current and accumulated flow provide a variety of options to collect informative measurement data and process it in the control system or the process. The fast response time of 100 milliseconds also permits the detection of quick changes or compressed air peaks. Furthermore, the Metris has high measurement dynamics of, for example, 1:300.
The measuring principle and the design of the sensors make a measuring accuracy of 3% of the measuring value and 0,3% of the final value of the measuring range possible. Available for pipe sizes from 12,5 to 250 mm, the efector Metris incorporates a numeric display showing the throughput. For ease of interface with existing systems, the outputs are available as analog, pulsed or switched alarm points.
