BMG has opened specialist engineering hubs throughout the country.
These have been formed by the consolidation of BMG Drives and BMG Belting to support the company’s recently launched ‘world class production efficiency’ initiative.
“The eight engineering hubs, which are assembly and support operations, offer a combined technical expertise and value-added product solution, to enhance the company’s service in carefully identified regions,” says Gavin Pelser, BMG director.
Services include the supply, installation and repair of gearboxes, electric motors, PVC, PU, transmission and rubber belting, rollers and idlers, as well as a complete range of modular belting, heat exchangers and oscillating systems.
“Through these engineering hubs, BMG assists companies faced with a lack of engineering expertise, expensive machinery repairs and extended downtime periods. By selectively combining condition based maintenance products and services, with maintenance techniques and upgrades to energy efficient products, the efficiencies of a plant can be significantly enhanced,” he says.
BMG’s engineering hubs, which are supported by technically competent teams available 24 hours a day, are situated in Durban, Richards Bay, East London, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town, Kimberley, Johannesburg and Nelspruit. New hubs will soon be opened in Sishen, Rustenburg and in Tete, Mozambique. The Johannesburg hub has a load test facility for gearboxes to test up 200 kW, using the latest technology to transmit and apply loads of up to 30 000 Nm.
BMG is hosting open days for customers to launch the official opening of these engineering hubs.
