Air motors from Deprag

September 2011 Electrical switching & drive systems & components

Dowson and Dobson Industrial is increasing its product range in the recently established Assembly Technology Division. This division is the national distributor of the German Deprag brand and it stocks an exclusive range of Deprag air motors.

These can be employed in almost all sectors of industry, examples being food processing, paper and pulp, medical, pharmaceutical and steel processing. The advanced design and manufacture result in the highest standards of performance. Deprag air motors are safe and robust drive systems, and have been proved to be more reliable than other industry standard drive products.

They conform to ATEX and are safe for use in potentially explosive environments. They are resistant to acids, dust, heat and vibration. They are also light and compact – at only 20% of the weight and 30% of the size of an electric motor of equivalent power. This saves significantly on floor space.

The range consists of the Basic line, the Advanced line and the Power line.

The Basic line is a cost effective model which delivers savings in production time, a result of the patented vane exchange system. This range is best suited for use in noncritical production environments and is available in power ranges of 200, 400 and 600 W.

All air motors in the Advanced range are 100% sealed, oil free and noncorrosive, and are manufactured from stainless steel. This range is suitable for the paper and food processing industries, and motors are available in power ranges of between 20 W to 1,2 kW.

The Power Line range offers significantly higher starting torque with an unparalleled low performance weight, compared to an industry standard electric drive. With robust and reliable design, and a power range of 1,6 to 18 kW, these motors are suited to heavy industrial applications such as oil refining and rock drilling.

Dowson and Dobson also provides comprehensive after sales and technical support and product training to ensure that clients get maximum value from the company’s products.
