BMG-Bearing Man supplies QM Quick-Flex flexible couplings. These transmit torque from a driving shaft to a driven shaft and accommodate shaft misalignment within the drive. They also dampen vibration, torque fluctuations and torsional shock loads.
A Quick-Flex coupling consists of two steel coupling hubs which are attached to the drive and driven shaft. A chemical resistant insert wraps around the two hubs and provides a simple, effective, drive mechanism. The only spare part required is a standby wraparound insert that can be quickly changed when necessary. QM couplings allow direct replacement with virtually all comparable sized couplings, they require no lubrication and they are easy to install and maintain.
Once the two coupling hubs, insert and cover have been installed and aligned for the first time, the coupling hubs do not need to be moved again for the life of the equipment. The simple, compact design means there is no possible interference between the coupling hubs if the insert fails. The urethane insert can be easily changed without moving the hubs or shafts and no realignment of components is necessary.
Important features are excellent balance allowing for high speed applications; low maintenance with no lubrication needed; and reduced downtime. Unlike a standard jaw coupling, there is no metal to metal contact. These couplings accept angular misalignment up to 2° and parallel shaft displacement up to 7,92 mm.
The QM couplings are compatible with shaft sizes from 12 mm to 286 mm and can withstand speeds from 1200 rpm, to 9000 rpm, depending on the size. Torque ratings range from 340 Nm to 78 500 Nm, based on the blue element specifications. QM couplings are designed for use in diverse applications including hydraulics, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, vibrator screens and fans.

Editor's Choice Hydraulic systems & components
Every engineer, machine designer and maintenance professional understands that the heart of any reliable hydraulic system is its fluid. But the moment that fluid is compromised, your system’s life expectancy and your peace of mind drop dramatically.
