Artic on the move

Second Quarter 2005 News & events

Artic Driers International, the sole African distributor for Jemaco Flair of South Korea, has moved to new and much larger premises in Golden Drive, Benoni.

Allen Cockfield, general manager of Artic, says that due to the phenomenal growth in sales, the original warehouse had become far too small. Since the launching of Jemaco Flair compressed air treatment products in the country five years ago, the sales have trebled in financial and in unit sales.

Jemaco Flair is part of the SPX air treatment division that owns several other compressed air dryer and filter manufacturers. The SPX Group has gross sales in excess of 4,8 billion US Dollars p.a. These manufacturing plants operate in several countries around the globe and supply a major percentage of the world's air, gas dryer and filtration market.

Artic Driers has marketed air treatment products for 14 years and has established a large client base in SA. The company has remained in the market through good and bad years, slowly developing its range of products to suit the South African market and climate. Artic Driers is moving into higher gear with increased stockholdings to satisfy its dealer and end-user network.

Jemaco products have proven that they are capable of withstanding SA conditions with unwavering reliability. Artic reports having sold a number of larger dryers into the cement, steel and power generation industry in the last 12 months. The intention is to increase its market share by J.I.T. stock management, while maximising sales through fast reactions and keen pricing. "This approach," says Cockfield, "coupled with our wide knowledge of the air dryer market, will keep the sales on a steady but constant growth."
