New low differential pressure sensor
Third Quarter 2005
Other technologies
The new PSE550 low differential pressure sensor monitors pressures and can detect differences as low as 0,2 kPa across any system. It is especially useful where heating and ventilation flow needs to be monitored. Suitable for use with air, non-corrosive gas and non-flammable gases, the PSE550 is ideal for applications such as monitoring filters to provide early warning of filter clogging to ensure healthy working environments for staff; monitoring flow rate inside fan-forced ducts; and detection of liquid levels within tanks.
Output can be displayed using SMC's pressure sensor controller - the PSE300 series. The PSE300 contains a 10 mm backlit digital display and can provide a feedback signal to a central controller or to a computer for monitoring and analysis. With a proof pressure of 65 kPa and an operating pressure range of -50 to 50 kPa, the PSE550 operates on 12 to 24 V d.c. A red LED provides visual confirmation of operational status and an electrical output is given at either 1-5 V d.c or 4-20 mA, depending on which of two models is selected. The PSE550 operates in temperatures ranging from 0 to 50°C without condensation or freezing.
