Hytec welcomes new division into group

Second quarter 2006 News & events

The Hytec Group has created a new division, Hytec Coupling Technology (HCT), to target the local distribution of KTR products, primarily Rotex and Bowex couplings. KTR Kupplungstechnik with its headquarters in Germany is a world leader in the field of advanced drive and coupling technology.

Mike Panayides, KTR Product Specialist at HCT, is confident that the high-quality couplings will be sought after by OEMs and the like. "KTR products are not new to South Africa, they simply have not yet been marketed through such a comprehensive distribution network as ours, and backed by the strong agreement we have formed with the manufacturer," says Panayides. "During my 11 years at Hytec, some of which I spent as branch manager for Kitwe, Zambia, I have always thought highly of the KTR brand and felt that it could really take of if correctly marketed and supported."

Rotex and Bowex spider and hub couplings are made from corrosion-proof material and are lighter, yet more robust than most competitors. Suitable for use in agricultural machinery, food processing, general industry, print and paper, textile, sewage, wash-mobiles, chemical and pharmaceutical industry and offshore unit applications, these products contain various inventive design features. They can accommodate high operating speeds and torques, are low-maintenance or maintenance free and are available as complete sets, or individual components.
