Shaftslide II has been developed as a guide clearance monitor and datalogger for mine hoist applications. The system is made up of:
* A spring loaded measuring probe using two precision linear sensors with a total measuring range of 50 mm.
* A datalogger and display unit that produces readouts during monitoring and can also log the displacement. Data logged are also time and date stamped. Data can be retrieved and downloaded to programs like Excel and Quattro in order to do post processing and prepare graphs. An alarm will also sound when preset limits are exceeded.
* A photoelectric sensor with a range of 700 mm ensures that logging takes place at each bunting (cross member).
* A plug-in mains charger for charging the 12 V rechargeable pack inside the unit.
