Compact, portable gear pumps

Second quarter 2006 Other technologies

Available from Ernest Lowe, the Polaris gear pumps and motors meet a wide range of mobile and industrial applications with SAE and European approved mounting flanges. The extruded aluminium body houses single piece gear, journal, shaft assemblies with a pressure balancing system that provides the highest volumetric and overall efficiencies available.

The exceptionally large bearings make it the most complete range of drive shafts in spline, parallel keyed, and tapered versions to meet all SAE, DIN, and European standards, and is available with optional one piece SAE B shaft and flange.

The variety in choices of shaft size and type, mounting flanges, ports and displacements make this gear pump easy to fit, or retrofit in virtually all applications. The largest displacements available are 10, 20, 25 and 30 CC, making compact solutions possible for flow rates that require 'next frame size'.

Specifically designed for either side or rear ports and can be provided with common inlets on multisection units. Large inlet ports ensure maximum flow and eliminate cavitation under tough operating conditions. All sizes of pumps and motors are available in both uni- and bi-directional versions. Motors are suitable for either parallel or series operation.

Design flexibility is offered by multisection units of different frame sizes and displacements from standard parts - and circuits can be further simplified by using built-in valve options: priority, anti-cavitation, relief pressure control, load sensing, electric venting, etc. New combinations can easily be provided for OEM applications

The Polaris is particularly suitable for multisection flow dividers which offer consistent flow division over the complete pressure/flow range. When assembled for multiple cylinder applications, they will automatically reset the end of stroke using relief and anti-cavitation valves. Now available in the new compact design with the inlet port on the rear cover from Ernest Lowe.
