Earlier this year Hägglunds Drives AB, Sweden, appointed Hytec as an official southern African representative in all industry categories, including marine, mining and bulk materials handling, rubber, pulp and paper, sugar and steel. Hytec was further appointed sole Hägglunds spares distributor in southern Africa.

"We hope that this agreement, which came into effect on 1 January 2004, will grow into a partnership that equally benefits Hytec, Hägglunds and local consumers," commented Hytec Group MD, John Wingrove. Hägglunds group marketing manager, Kalevi Niemi, echoed these sentiments, "Through this agreement, we believe that we will serve the South African market in a much better and closer way than in the past."

Hägglunds operates globally, manufacturing complete hydraulic drive systems, including a wide range of hydraulic motors, accessories, power units and control system. Coupling the company's drives with its control and monitoring system makes interfacing easier - and also permits operations to be monitored remotely over the net. The company's motors, power units and control systems are key components of a complete drive system developed to meet or exceed demands in quality, service, safety, dependability and control.
