Rexroth Bosch Group team leader for Pneumatic Product and Technical Training, Thomas Weyrich, has concluded a two-week visit to South Africa, during which the pneumatic product specialist presented successful seminars in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.
"Following the merger of Bosch and Rexroth in 2000, we have had to consolidate a variety of products, develop new ones and improve others to arrive at a uniform, complete product range that was every bit as advanced as the individual entities within it - this point has now been reached," says Weyrich. "My visit here not only served to inform the local market of the latest developments completed by us, but to offer technical training that would ensure Tectra Automation remained professionally equipped in serving as our local representative. I have been impressed by the levels of quality and commitment to service that I have seen here, and the market is well defined too, which makes things easier for us from a support perspective."
One of the most important developments since the merger has been the creation of a fully automated global support centre in Europe that will allow any Rexroth Bosch related product queries, no matter how technical, to be resolved in as little as 24 hours. Allowing phone calls, e-mails and Internet queries to be consolidated and speedily resolved, this service includes a comprehensive database, which acts as first port of call for standard information requests. Should this computer-automated function not satisfy a request, it is then routed to trained technical specialists for further processing.
"We would like to think that this service puts us in the offices of our partners and distributors worldwide, which allows them to offer instant support to their clients in the way that a local manufacturer would - global competition demands it," adds Weyrich.
The company's focus going forward will fall predominantly on the automation, automotive and food packaging industries, with Asia and North America having been identified as primary growth areas.
