Profibus adaptor snaps to IT

CHI Control Components recently launched a new cost effective locally manufactured, Profibus Starter Network Adapter (PSNAP). The PSNAP is a Profibus DP slave unit that interfaces between a Profibus network and CHI's IT starter range from Eaton. The IT starter is an electronic unit that comprises a contactor section and a motor protection unit complete with electronic control and current measurement circuit sensors. This starter unit communicates with the PSNAP which is equipped with the necessary field interface, module status indication and Profibus connection.
The PSNAP can be used as a standalone fieldbus control unit, fieldbus/hardwired control or as a dumb I/O device.
The unit is Profibus certified, offers simplified functionality and has auto-search network capability. Self-diagnostic fault finding is incorporated and the available software interface can be used for commissioning and fault finding. The device has LED indication for all input and output status and can be DIN rail or screw mounted.
