The THK HSR.M2 LM series guides, available from SKF South Africa, feature high corrosion resistance and are suitable for submerged or moisture prone applications where longevity is key.
Traditional linear motion systems typically require surface treatments to adapt them to hostile conditions. Normal bearing quality stainless steel in conventional applications in difficult environments is vulnerable to rust and corrosion. THK responded to the challenge with this corrosion resistant guide.
The guide does not require separate surface treatment due to the high corrosion resistance stainless steel used in the LM rail, carriage and balls. In test conditions, over 24 hour at different combinations of temperature and humidity of 95%, the HSR.M2 series demonstrated superior corrosion resistance when compared to standard stainless steel guides.
Three models are available allowing optimum flexibility in weight and outline dimensions: HSR 15 M2A, HSR 20 M2A, and HSR 25 M2A, available in guide lengths ranging from 160 mm to 1000 mm.
