Afripower, trading as Hytec, has announced the findings of technical quality audits undertaken by two key customers, Denel Dynamics and Anglo American.
The report from Denel Dynamics concluded that the supplier exceeds Denel Dynamics' required quality standards and lists Hytec as an 'A' supplier, effectively renewing the company's approved supplier status. The report assessed quality issues such as supplier management, control of records and documents, human resources and preservation of product.

The Anglo American assessment covered the design, manufacture and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic components. Its report concluded that the continuous improvement of the company's Quality System is well managed by the organisation and rated Hytec as a 'B' supplier.
Mike Harrison, Hytec General Manager, states that the company is continuously looking at ways in which to improve its quality of product supply and service. "These assessments are important to us in that we can use the feedback in conjunction with our own quality assessment evaluations to maintain and improve our performance."
Hytec is an accredited Bosch Rexroth Service Centre of Competence (SCoC), the first in the world outside of the Bosch Rexroth group. This accreditation recognises Hytec as the only company on the African continent capable of maintaining Bosch Rexroth equipment to group standards. The SCoC was achieved through investment in the required test facilities (45 to 600 kW), qualified manpower, Rexroth trained specialists and tutors, and an engineering team capable of handling any hydraulic project.
Bosch Rexroth has also rated Hytec as Service Centre Advanced (SCA) in industrial hydraulics. This accreditation covers products such as servo valves, proportional valves, industrial controls and cylinders, and recognises the company's ability to deliver world-class service and repairs, aftersales support and high quality repairs.
