Improved pin cylinders save space

Fourth Quarter 2007 Pneumatic systems & components

Machine builders looking to incorporate small double-acting pneumatic pin cylinders for clamping, pushing or stopping applications into their machines often have to juggle between the available components and the available space. But thanks to the design engineers at SMC this challenge may be a thing of the past with the introduction of SMC's new CJP2 Series pin cylinder range.

Available in four bore size options, this series includes a tiny, but powerful, 4 mm bore size option. With 6, 10 and 16 mm bore sizes completing the range, all feature extruded aluminium bodies which make them compact and lightweight. With longer stroke options of up to 40 mm, dependent on the selected bore size, the entire series can be fitted with direct mounted SMC D-M9/D-A9 auto switches without the need for additional mounting brackets. Further options include rubber bumper cushions for impact resistance providing quieter operation. Made to order models include both heat and cold resistant types. Mounting possibilities include basic/panel, flange, foot, clevis and trunnion options. The new CJP2 Series is fully interchangeable with SMC's existing CJP range.
