Devices increase machine safety

Fourth Quarter 2007 Other technologies

The core focus of Euchner's business is the design and development of switching devices for protecting a wide variety of machinery movements. The company's comprehensive range of safety switches to stop machine movements has been proven and relied upon for decades and forms a large part of its extensive product offering.

Euchner's TP safety switches ensure that guard devices remain closed during hazardous machine movements - while running a main spindle for example. TP safety switches have glass-fibre reinforced plastic housings and due to their slim design are well suited for fitting on profiles used in the construction of automation and handling equipment.

TP features include:

* Electrical and optional mechanical locking devices.

* Emergency release.

* Various switch contact configurations.

The TZ door safety switch has a magnetic locking device with interlock monitoring. Consequently, the position of the door can be monitored and the magnet operated by a control system. These safety switches are Type 2 devices and model variants are available according to type of interlock, magnet operating voltage, actuating head, contact elements used and connection type.
