CBI-electric signs transformer contract

CBI-electric: medium voltage, the newly formed division of CBI-electric, has signed two contracts with Rustenburg Local Municipality.
The first contract is for the manufacture, supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of a minimum of four 20 MVA, 33 kV/11 kV power transformers, to be delivered over the next year. The transformers will be used to further strengthen the network to various parts of Rustenburg.
A contract for the supply and delivery of locally produced miniature substations was also agreed upon. The mini-subs use SF6 technology for the Ring Main Units and low loss technology for the MV/LV transformers. CBI-electric's low voltage protection equipment will be installed in the mini-subs.
Commenting on the contracts, Neil Jackson, sales manager of CBI-electric: medium voltage, said, "We are very pleased to have signed these contracts so early in the new year, particularly since we have only been fully operational since August last year."
CBI-electric's medium voltage product range includes distribution transformers, power transformers, switchgear and miniature substations.
