Manuli Rubber Group enters South Africa

Second Quarter 2008 News & events

Manuli Rubber Industries (Manuli) has acquired Powerforce Hydraulics Witbank. The acquisition coincides with the establishment of a new Manuli subsidiary in Johannesburg, named Manuli Fluiconnecto, which will focus on South Africa and the sub-Saharan region. The Johannesburg headquarters and local service point are based in Germiston.

During the transition period Powerforce will retain its name and continue to operate from its fully equipped location in Witbank. At a later date Powerforce will trade under the Fluiconnecto By Manuli brand.

Powerforce has earned a reputation for technical competence; its ability to promptly respond to customers' needs; the broad availability of components and its strict attention to service and quality. The current management will remain on board, committed to support Powerforce in further developments and success. At present, 25 people are employed.

Fluiconnecto By Manuli is an international distribution organisation, serving all sectors of activity with a complete range of premium quality hydraulic connectors and related services, driven by know-how and added value.

The acquisition and the new opening enhances Manuli Rubber Group's global position in the retail business and illustrates its strong commitment to South Africa by being able to offer its customers a full range of integrated products while maintaining its high quality of service. Fluiconnecto By Manuli now operates a network of more than 110 fully owned service points in Europe, South America and South Africa.
