The SR1A from Celesco is a rugged, low-cost, high performance string pot built for wet environments and outdoor applications. Originally designed for off-road construction equipment, the SR1A is a low-cost solution for OEM and stocking distributors. Available in 1575 mm (62 inch) and 3175 mm (125 inch) stroke ranges, the SR1A is constructed of a rugged polycarbonate enclosure designed to withstand impact from harsh environments and rugged conditions. Each sensor ships with a mating connector and optional cord-sets are available.
These off-the-shelf transducers come complete with a versatile mounting bracket. The bracket provides multiple cable exit direction options for customers, allowing it to be mounted to any vertical or horizontal service. Electrical connection is through a universally accepted field installable M12 connector.
Operation
Under constant tension, the stainless steel measuring cable of the SR1A wraps around an internal spring-loaded spool coupled to a rotary 10 kW potentiometer. By applying a constant voltage to the input, the movement of the spool produces an output voltage directly proportional to the position of the measuring cable and accurate to ±0,5%.
