Genflex pilots franchise operation

Fourth Quarter 2008 News & events

Genflex recently launched a pilot franchise operation in Delmas to gain insight into this business model.

According to Bruce Garner, managing director of Genflex, “Genflex has no experience in franchising the sale of its products, so we decided to try this pilot franchise in Delmas. The franchise will supply our branded hose and fittings, and provide the opportunity to go through the learning curve needed to adopt a franchise business model”.

When the franchise was opened, a technical support manager from Genflex was seconded to its premises to train new staff for two months. Initial feedback was that 95% of hose assemblies manufactured could easily be assembled to the Genflex accepted standards. This percentage is expected to reach 100% shortly.

Tinus Potgieter, owner of Genflex Delmas, says, “I am confident that business will continue to grow in the Delmas area. I am impressed with the way that Genflex has supported me during the formative months of operation. I cannot question the quality of their hose and fittings and the integrity of their management. Their back-up technical support has also been impressive”.

Genflex is one of South Africa’s leading suppliers of hydraulic hose and fittings
