The SICK DT20 Hi analogue distance sensor for operation in the 50–1000 mm range is a robust sensor which has high immunity to ambient light, and is easy to install. The sensor offers high accuracy even when sensing fast-moving objects with glossy surfaces. Applications include quality inspection in the millimetre range and the detection of small parts.
Mounted in a compact IP65-protected metal housing, the DT20 Hi operates with a red-light laser diode and has a switching output (optionally NPN or PNP) and a 4–20 mA analogue output. A special front screen ensures the DT20’s high immunity to ambient light.
The sensor is available in four measurement ranges: 50–150 mm, 100–300 mm, 100–600 mm and 100–1000 mm. CMOS technology achieves a response time of under 15 ms with better than 1 mm measurement resolution.
The DT20 Hi can be configured and commissioned via its display and menu system. Connections are made via a 5-pin M12 plug.
