The Datasensor S81 features a highly focused laser spot, with a diameter of only 5 mm at 4 m. This permits a precise definition of the exact target point where distance is measured. The distance sensor uses time of flight of light technology to affordably provide accurate, reliable detection and measurement over distances of up to 4 m with a repeatability of ±4 mm and response time of 5 ms.
Models are available with various combinations of analogue output, scalable analogue output, alarm output and switching outputs. Configuration is accomplished through two pushbuttons, which facilitate accurate settings. Digital and alarm outputs can be used to alert operators of operational problems such as ‘out of range’ conditions.
S81 sensors are typically applied in automatic materials handling, warehousing, the automotive and woodworking industries, as well as in automatic parking and other position control fields.
