Engineering suppliers hit the road

2nd Quarter 2009 News & events

The Mechanical Engineering Equipment Exhibitions Association (MEEE) was formed more than 11 years ago with the aim of pooling resources for marketing purposes.

Membership of the MEEE comprises AUMA, Techmatic, Drytech, Dymot Engineering, Elephant Lifting Equipment, Flowseal Engineering, Hydromobile, Lerechabetse, MikroPul, Rand Blower and Smart Drive.

Towards the end of each calendar year the members decide on prospective geographical areas in southern Africa that are experiencing significant building or refurbishing of facilities and which of these would be worthwhile visiting. MEEE plans between seven and 10 exhibitions in a year with a major national exhibition such as Electra Mining often forming one of the planned shows.

Members share the cost of each exhibition, which makes these shows financially viable even for small companies. Each member invites its own or prospective customers to the show and displays on a small exhibition stand. This pooling of customers, suppliers, manufacturers, event co-ordination and finance facilitates cross selling opportunities, and networking with companies that would normally not be easily accessible.

The calendar for the remainder of 2009 is as follows:

9 July: Rustenburg

13 August: Vanderbijl Park

17 September: Port Elizabeth

29 October: Lichtenburg
