The Limes linear measurement system from Kübler can replace regular encoders where space is limited or when long linear distances need to be achieved. The new incremental magnetic systems RI50 and LI50, with their rugged die-cast housing and their minimal installation depth of just 16 mm, have a wide spectrum of applications. Although they have a large hollow shaft of 30 mm they are suited for all plant and machinery where installation space is limited.
The magnetic measuring systems provide the signals of fully fledged incremental encoders: A, A-, B, B-, as well as 0 and 0-.
Rugged
The non-contact sensor technology results in a high level of resistance to vibration and shock. Outdoor use is also possible. This is a result of by the high IP67 protection rating, the permitted humidity level of 100% with condensation, the wide temperature range and the rugged die-cast housing. In addition the metallic housing is shielded against electromagnetic interference.
Easy installation
Installation is exceptionally easy due to the large mounting tolerances of up to 2 mm between magnetic ring and sensor head. In addition, a red LED gives a warning signal if the distance from the band or the ring to the measuring head is too great or if the speed is too high. The green light indicates the index pulse. The wide supply voltage range from 4,8 up to 30 V d.c. further facilitates the installation.
Connection is made using a high quality shielded PUR cable that can be used in trailing cable installations if required. The measuring head comes with either a push-pull output or an RS422 interface. Resolution is up to 5 μm with quadruple evaluation, the repeat accuracy is ± one increment and the maximum travelling speed is 25 m/s.
