SKF in Sweden takes social responsibility to heart, and in 2006 the company decided to sponsor the Gothia Cup, one of the most popular youth football tournaments in the world. South Africa’s winners of the SKF 'Meet the World Tournament', the Junior Lions, competed with some of the best juniors in the world and played a game that thrilled supporters. The team finished in the top 16 out of 144, the spectators loved them, and they remained the firm favourites of a soccer crowd that clearly recognised the talent, passion and heart that South African youngsters displayed. SKF South Africa congratulates a team that played the game with determination and passion.
