Festo is the only supplier of inductive sensors offering a sensor that fits flush into an 8 mm slot. The perfect fit of the SIES-8M sensor brings various benefits to the customer in terms of space and time savings and ease of use.
The sensor can be used to detect all the positions of an electric drive, or to detect the position of the fingers of pneumatic grippers and of metallic workpieces. Both of its patented twin LEDs light up when the sensor is activated so that one LED is always visible no matter from which angle the sensor is viewed.
The sensor saves space by recessing completely into the slot. With this slot mounting, the proximity sensor can be installed faster and more reliably than comparable externally mounted sensors. It is held securely in the 8 mm slot by a robust central mounting. This mounting also offers protection against mechanical factors. Cables are available in standard lengths between 0,3 and 10 metres for use with drives of different sizes.
