New V-belts from BMG

1st Quarter 2011 Electrical switching & drive systems & components

BMG’s portfolio of Fenner branded power transmission components has been extended to include a new range of V-belts with special features for enhanced performance, even in the harshest operating conditions.

The new range of NuTLink V-belts for classical V-section drives and SuperTLink detachable belts for wedge drives, is manufactured from a polyester/polyurethane composite that ensures an extended service life – up to 20 times longer in some applications. The link construction of this new series enables belts to be fitted quickly and easily, even on inaccessible drives. The flexible design means belts can be joined around the shafts, without having to dismantle the drive.

Other important features include high resistance to abrasive materials, as well as to water, steam, oil and most chemicals; efficient operation in extreme temperatures between -40°C and +100°C; and reduced noise levels by up to 50%. The link design also reduces transmitted vibration.

Another advantage of these V-belts is that they can be made to exact length requirements by simply adding or removing links, which means there is no need to hold stocks of every belt length. High quality materials ensure minimal stretch of the belt over long periods, hence minimal re-tensioning is necessary.

NuTLink V-belts are available in all the main industry belt profiles – Z/10, A/13, B/17 and C/22. SuperTLink detachable wedge belts are available in SPZ, SPA and SPB sections to enhance performance of wedge belt drives. These high strength Fenner V-belts offer longer service life, higher drive efficiency, lower noise levels and reduced downtime compared with conventional V-belts.
