To lessen the unkindness of a harsh winter, the staff of Schneider Electric dedicated the annual Schneider Electric social initiative week, named Luli, to collecting blankets, nonperishable items and clothing for those less fortunate.
Luli is Schneider Electric’s worldwide campaign where for one week every year the spotlight is on local initiatives to support partnerships and local commitments.
2011 celebrates the tenth anniversary of Luli and saw the South African operation donate close on 800 items to those less fortunate. The donation was made via Oliver’s House, a public benefit organisation, to Zenzele informal settlement. Terence Ferreira, CEO of Oliver’s House, said, “Our children were overjoyed with the love, attention and gifts they received and we all salute the legacy that is Luli Day.”
