Compressed air pipes for large projects

3rd Quarter 2011 Pneumatic systems & components

An increasing number of projects require the use of larger capacity pipe diameters up to 168 mm (DN 150-6”). These include industrial buildings which have primary networks for compressed air supply above 3000 m³/h; compressor rooms connecting receivers or multiple high output compressors; and vacuum systems for centralised industrial vacuum networks.

Complementing existing 16,5 mm to 100 mm pipe sizes, Transair’s new 168 mm range of aluminium pipes for compressed air from Parker Hannifin meets the requirements for larger capacity pipe diameters. It offers a complete solution – pipe, fittings and accessories – for large projects.

Assembly is easy and reliable. Pipe and fittings are supplied ready for immediate, easy installation and quick assembly. Components are completely dismountable and re-usable, making for adaptable modular networks. The pipes have high resistance to corrosion, aggressive environments, mechanical shocks, thermal variations, UV light and compressor oil carry over. The high quality pipe and components are guaranteed for 10 years and are silicone free.

They are lightweight, making handling easier and reducing installation times. The combination of a 161,3 mm internal diameter and smooth interior aluminium surface greatly enhances flow rates and reduces expensive pressure drops. For ease of identification the Transair aluminium pipe is available in either blue or grey. The system is rapid to fit and extend, with reduced downtime and lower maintenance costs.

All these features greatly increase overall savings and offer an economical, reliable and efficient alternative to traditional steel networks. To find out more visit http://tiny.cc/4wb42
