A comprehensive range of hydraulic and pneumatic sealing products are now available through newly established Ludowici Meshcape.
Australia-based Ludowici, which acquired screening media manufacturer Meshcape in August 2011, has been an internationally recognised sealing solutions supplier for more than 150 years, and the company is expanding its footprint locally through the well established Meshcape network of branches in South Africa.
Ludowici Meshcape maintains a large and comprehensive stockholding of fluid sealing products in South Africa. “Our integrated stock control system ensures the efficient delivery of orders anywhere in Africa,” says Seal Division manager, Ameen Peters. The range includes O-rings, rod and pin wipers, polyurethane U-seals for piston and rod applications, buffers, chevrons, rod composites, piston composites, five-piece double acting seals, CAT and Japanese equivalent seals and kits, PTFE and plastic manufactured parts, oil seals, special, mouldings and extrusions and pneumatic seals.
Peters points out that the sealing industry in South Africa is commodity based and hence reputation and competitive pricing are vitally important. However, the company faces a number of challenges with the influx of cheaper, inferior quality products. He cautions that some operations find themselves drawn in to the initially lower cost of lesser quality products. These prove to be more costly in the long term due to problems with unforeseen failures and unscheduled downtime periods.”
Ludowici Meshcape’s entire range of sealing products are manufactured to the highest international ISO quality standards. Peters believes that the company’s strength lies in the fact that it manufactures its own products and complements these with imported reputable branded products.
