Schneider Electric has once again been recognised for its commitment to sustainable development by making 26th place on the ‘Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World’ list. In its 8th edition of the classification published by Corporate Knights, the Canadian magazine for clean capitalism, the Global 100 includes companies from 22 countries and from all sectors of the economy. Together they represent over 3 trillion dollars in turnover and employ more than 5 million people.
According to Gilles Vermot Desroches, sustainable development senior vice-president at Schneider Electric, the company intends to actively pursue its sustainable development policy with the development of solutions for smart cities and smart grids, a new ‘Planet & Society Barometer’ for the next three years and renewed commitment from all its employees throughout the world to make sustainable development an increasingly important aspect of its DNA.
Schneider Electric also received the Zayed Future Energy Prize in the Large Corporations category. Presented during the World Future Energy Summit (WFES 2012), this prize is awarded for commitment to the promotion of renewable energies and sustainable development.
