In 2008, SKF South Africa took a strategic decision to restructure its South African retail network to fall in line with the SKF Group strategy to primarily serve its industrial end user customers through independent industrial distributors.
BPS Bearings and Technology Solutions took over the existing SKF Branches in the Cape area in 2010 and today have two branches – one in Bellville and one in Saldanha – as well as a VMI Store on site with a large industrial end user.

“SKF’s authorised distributors are an extension of SKF. They are situated closer to the customer base, plan and manage stock more effectively and have the ability to service end users, meeting their demands for high quality, reliable products and services that add value and reduce total cost of ownership,” states BPS Bearings managing director, Peter Churchill.
BPS actively sells all six SKF core technologies – bearings and units; seals; lubrication systems; power transmission; mechatronics; and services. BPS is also certified to B-BBEE level 1, an upgrade from their previous Level 4 status and has a procurement recognition of 135%.
