Artic moves to larger base

2nd Quarter 2013 News & events

Artic Driers, the largest independent importer and distributor of compressed air treatment equipment in the country, has moved into new, larger premises in Apex, Benoni. Precipitated by Artic’s expanding operations, the move to a new operational base has been planned for over two years.

The new base is equipped with the latest communications equipment including wall to wall WiFi and VOIP telecoms with Telkom backup systems. “This means that Artic should never be out of contact with its clients,” says Artic CEO, Allen Cockfield. The new property also includes a container off-loading facility, complete with a dock leveller which allows off-loading of 6,7 and 13,3 metre containers in-house.

Artic’s latest innovation is the use of an Apple iPad for leak detection surveys, service reports, commissioning reports and even sales reports. This will allow clients to log into the Artic service system and book service calls via the Internet.

“The large property will allow us to expand and grow even more over the next decade,” Cockfield says. “The newly painted pre-existing offices are only a stopover point as Artic plans to convert another two-storey block on the property into an urban industrial-style office block within the next 12 months.”

“Artic has pushed the envelope for two decades, acquiring product groups that satisfy all client needs relating to compressed air treatment and waste condensate management. With the recent signing of the BryAir distribution agreement, a leader in room and system dehumidification, Artic has evolved into a comprehensive service provider of compressed air and ambient air treatment solutions,” Cockfield concludes.
