High performance linear actuator

1 August 2013 Electrical switching & drive systems & components

Yale Engineering Products, part of the worldwide CMCO group of companies, supplies, services and supports the Pfaff Silberblau range of linear actuators and mechanical screw jacks throughout South Africa and neighbouring countries. Used throughout industry, these ultra-reliable products facilitate processes where precise and predictable holding, moving and supporting actions are necessary in the production environment.

With a long history of providing turnkey solutions to industry, Pfaff Silberblau became part of the CMCO group in 2008. Yale now supplies this product line in ranges from as little at 20 kg to well over 300 ton capacity units. Yale also offers a design service together with turnkey supply options to engineers with specific requirements. Using no oil or air, the linear and mechanical actuators provide a clean and reliable solution.

Another versatile drive element is the high performance HLA linear actuator. The HLA combines the advantages of the proven high performance HSE worm gear screw jacks and the ALSR electromechanical screw rams with tubular construction. The linear actuator consists of a drive mechanism with two possible transmission stages as well as a shaft and thrust tube design and can be used as an individual drive or in multi-screw lifting systems. The shaft and thrust tube system has a corrosion protected or hard chromium plated finish and ensures optimum guidance and mechanical protection of the screw. Innumerable motor variants can be provided by means of various motor mounting flanges and couplings. The product is completed by a wide range of accessories such as lift limitation, various head designs and short safety nut.
