Engen brings new lube oil to Zambia

2nd Quarter 2014 News & events

Engen, the downstream petroleum products company with operations in 15 African and Indian Ocean Island countries, is taking its Dieselube 500 Super 15W-40 lubricating oil into Zambia. Andre de Wet, managing director of Engen Zambia, says the timing is perfect to bring the oil to Zambia as the in-country operation and dealer network have matured sufficiently.

“Moreover, this lubricant is just what Zambian motorists want and need. Market research has shown that our customers want a quality, reliable lubricant. Dieselube 500 Super is that lubricant, and it is going to be widely available in Zambia at an affordable price. That’s great news for motorists, and therefore also for us because what matters to our customers matters to us.”

Kamil De Villiers, lubricants manager for Engen International Business Development, says Dieselube 500 Super’s unique characteristics make it ideally suited to operating conditions on the continent. In addition to lubricating and cooling engines under high temperatures and pressures, Engen Dieselube 500 Super is a multigrade oil that minimises the effects of high sulphur fuels, thereby protecting the engine from higher wear rates, with the added benefit of being used in both diesel and petrol engines.

Engen manufactures a vast range of lubricants under its own brand and those of Petronas Lubricants International and others – including automotive oils, universal tractor oils, gear and transmission oils, industrial oils, marine oils, greases and utility products such as brake fluids.
